Same charity, New name...
It is 10 years since GWNS was set up by local churches in Greenwich;
3 years since we set up a static shelter in response to the need out there;
and 2 years since we first launched the year round Day Centre.
During that time, we have been through so much growth, change and development. By listening to the voices of our guests, volunteers, and local community we evolved from simply being a Night Shelter during the winter months, to having a staff team, on site caseworker, Day Centre with additional support, counsellor, GPs, a beautiful flourishing garden, wellbeing workshops and so much more!
We think you’ll all agree that we are now so much more than just the Greenwich Winter Night Shelter.
Therefore, after workshops with guests, volunteers, staff and trustees, we are so excited to reveal our new name – one that we believe maintains the essence of who we are at the core, and also gives us space to grow in the places where we see need.
