It’s Volunteer's Week, and we want to celebrate our amazing volunteers! 💫

As we celebrate National Volunteers’ Week from 1–7 June, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible volunteers who help make our charity such a special place.

Every day, our volunteers bring kindness, energy and compassion to our services, helping us provide vital support to people experiencing homelessness. Whether they’re serving meals, sharing a conversation, supporting activities or simply offering a warm welcome, they help create a sense of community, dignity and hope for every guest who walks through our doors.

Volunteering with us is an opportunity to make a real difference while gaining something meaningful in return.

We’re always looking for new volunteers to join our amazing team. Whatever your skills, experience or availability, there are many ways to get involved. A few hours of your time could have a lasting impact on someone else’s life—and could be one of the most rewarding things you do.

Our volunteers often tell us about the connections they’ve made, the confidence they’ve built and the sense of purpose they feel from being part of a team that changes lives.

So… we’d love to introduce you to Carole…

Volunteer spotlight - Meet Carole !

“Hi there, I’m Carole

As part of a placement for my pastoral ministry training with St Luke’s Church, I’ve just completed six weeks of volunteering at Greenwich Homeless Project and it was such a positive experience for me.

Greenwich Homeless Project is a really warm and welcoming environment where there is clear respect between staff, volunteers and guests and from day one, I felt that the work I was doing was so valued and worthwhile.  There was always someone available to answer questions and offer support and I particularly enjoyed being part of the team where my fellow volunteers made the experience both enjoyable and rewarding. I’ve learned a great deal during my time at GHP and I’m really looking forward to returning as a volunteer in the future as and when I can.”
